BBC Young Gardener of the Year 2012 John Floey, with partner Kate runs Holden Clough Nursery a nursery with a long history and recent track record of Gold medals at RHS and other prestigious shows. John has made a number of TV appearances including culminating in being crowned BBC Young Gardener of the Yea. John is available to give talks on a wide range of gardening and horticultural topics including: Crocosmias Through The Ages - An insight into what most people believe to be that 'weedy montbretia'. The talk dispells the myth that all crocosmias are weeds and looks into some of the interesting 140 vibrant varieties around and covers a wide range of cultural tips and growing techniques. Since being featured on BBC Gardeners World in 2005 focusing on my Crocosmias collection which I started when I was 14 Crocosmias are our speciality! Fantastic Foliage - A talk with colour in mind edges away from the stereotypical image of picking plants for their flower and focuses on growing plants with vibrant colourful foliage, covering a range of plants including perennials, shrubs, alpines and much more.
