Free entry to fair and lakeside walks
One of the many things we love about Dearnford Lake is the chance to have a quiet stroll around the lake before our plant fair begins. Last year there was so much wildlife to see. Great Crested Grebes as well as the shyer Little Grebe or Dabchick. Lots of ducks including the perky Tufted Ducks ,as well as swans, Reed Warblers, Great tits and many more.
Dearnford Lake is a picturesque, 50 acre site on the outskirts of Whitchurch, Shropshire, close the borders of Cheshire and Wales.
For me it's off to work on our plant stall after my stroll but once you've worked up an appetite you can enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea in the lakeside cafe. The cafe's menu changes with the seasons and is full of quality, local ingredients. The Full English Breakfast and Eggs Benedict come highly recommended!
There is a lakeside play area and lots of space for children to play. Dogs on leads are welcome around the lake and in the cafe.
The fair will be held right next to the cafe and lake.
This year we've got all your favourite nurseries returning plus some newcomers to the event.
